Learn Japanese grammar: (te miru) / (te mimasu). Meaning: try doing ~.

This is used to express that the speaker is trying to do something (likely a new experience).

  • 食べてみる -> tabete miru -> to try to eat.
  • 食べてみます -> tabete mimasu -> to try to eat (formal).
  • 食べてみたい -> tabete mitai -> to want to try to eat.

みる can be conjugated like a normal verb.
