な-adjective にする

Learn Japanese grammar: (ni suru). Meaning: to make something ~.

This pattern is used after a and makes something whatever the adjective describes.

After the adjective, remove な and add にする (ni suru)

  • 静か (shizuka na) quiet
  • 静かにする (shizuka ni suru) make quiet

する can also be conjugated as:

  • にします (ni shimasu) more polite
  • にして (ni shite) please make
  • にした (ni shita) made “past-tense”

To use with an い-adjective instead use .
