Learn Japanese grammar: ことにする (koto ni suru) / ことにします (koto ni shimasu). Meaning: to decide on.
This is used to express what one has decided on of their own will. Add it after a verb to say that’s what you’ve decided on.
Example A)
行かないことにする。
ikanai koto ni suru.
I’ve decided to not go.
Different ways to use:
- ことにする (koto ni suru) casual
- ことにします (koto ni shimasu) more polite
- ことにしている (koto ni shiteiru) current
- ことにしています (koto ni shiteimasu) current polite
- To use with a noun, remove the こと

Kanzen Master Jlpt Grammar N4
This book covers all of the grammar that you need to know to pass the JLPT N4, and includes great practice excercises. One down side though, is it's mostly in Japanese, but that will help you in the long run.

Jlpt N4 Japanese Lauguage Proficiency Test Official Practice Test
This is the official practice test of the JLPT N4. I highly recommend doing at least 1 practice test before taking the real test.
