For shikata ga nai, both the kanji and hiragana versions are commonly used.

sonna ni kenkou no koto o shinpai shitemo shikata ga nai.
There is no sense in your worrying about your health so much.

テストはあしただし、いまからあせってべんきょうしてもしかたがない。
tesuto wa ashita dashi, ima kara asette benkyou shitemo shikata ga nai.
The test is tomorrow, so it's no use to get flustered and start studying now.

きょうじゅうにけつろんはでないだろうし、これいじょうつづけてもしかたあるまい。
kyou juu ni ketsuron wa denai darou shi, kore ijou tsuzuke temo shikata aru mai.
The conclusion will likely not be reached today, so there's no point to continue on like this.

くうせきがあるのにたっていてもしょうがない。
kuuseki ga aru no ni tatteitemo shou ga nai.
There is no sense in standing when there are seats available.
