Learn Japanese grammar: 【とき】(toki). Meaning: when; at this time.

It is mainly written in hiragana, but sometimes the kanji version 時 is also used.

It can be used in both present and past tense.

  • 行く (iku toki) when I go.
  • 行った (itta toki) when I went.
