Learn Japanese grammar: (mada ~te imasen). Meaning: have not yet.

(mada ~te imasen) is used to express an action which is not yet done / not yet complete.

The less polite version (mada ~ te inai) can also be used.

Example A)

  • たべ
  • mada tabeteimasen.
  • I haven’t eaten yet.

Example B)

  • やっ
  • mada yatteinai.
  • I haven’t done it yet.

I haven't finished my report due tomorrow yet, so I can't go out today.

I haven't given up yet!

わたしのしっているかぎりでは、かのじょはまだけっこんしていません。

As far as I know she's still not married.
