Learn Japanese grammar: 【にたえる / にたえない】(ni taeru / ni taenai). Meaning: worth doing; can do; cannot bear doing ~.

This is often written in hiragana form 「にたえる」, but it also has two different kanji 「耐える」&「堪える」, with the first being more commonly used.
