きおんがひくすぎて、さむいというかいい。
kion ga hiku sugite, samui to iu ka itai.
The temperature is too low. It's more painful than cold.

あんこがすきというか、ないといきていけない。
anko ga suki to iu ka, nai to ikite ikenai.
I really like "anko" (sweet red bean paste), or rather I should say I can't live without it.

それは、おもしろいというか、めずらしいというか、とにかくかわったものだ。
sore wa, omoshiroi to iu ka, mezurashii to iu ka, tonikaku kawatta mono da.
That's interesting, or rather it's rare. In any case, it's strange.

I don't think I will go. Or rather I should say I don't have any money and so I can't go.

watashi wa goukaku shita ga, shinyuu wa fugoukaku datta. ureshii to iu ka, zannen to iu ka, fukusatsu na kimochi da.
I passed the exam, but my best friend did not. I'm happy, or perhaps I should say I'm sad. It's a complicated feeling.

anna tokoro ni hitori de iku nante, mucha to iu ka, muchi to iu ka, kanojo no suru koto wa rikai dekimasen.
To go somewhere like that alone, she is either crazy or ignorant. I can't understand her actions.
