Meaning: continue to.​

This grammar pattern represents that something is continuing to do something.

  • Note that this meaning does not apply to all instances of ばかりだ (bakari da) / ばかりです (bakari desu).
  • It could just be using だ/です after the standard use of .

You’ll have to tell if the meaning is ‘continue to’ or ‘only/nothing but’ based on the context of the sentence.
