Learn Japanese grammar: どんなに~うが/うと(も) (donna ni~uga/uto(mo)). Meaning: Now matter how/what; even if.

This grammar point should start with some sort of doubt preposition.

Both が (ga) and と(も)(to(mo)) are interchangeable

Before looking at the example sentences, let’s look at some simple patterns:

no matter how

ikura samu karou to(mo)

no matter how cold it may be

Now matter how much you apologize, I'm not going to forgive you this time.

どんなに騒いでも
kono manshon wa donnani sawagou tomo, soto kara wa nanimo kikoemasen.
No matter how loud you are in this apartment, you can't hear anything from outside.
Example #3

何歳でも
kimi ga nansai de arou ga kankei nai. shigoto ga dekireba ii.
As long as you can do the job, it doesn't matter how old you are.
Example #4

どんなに高くても
hitsuyou dakara, donnani takakarou ga kore wo kawanaito ikemasen.
It's irrelevant how expensive this is since it's a necessary item for me to purchase.
Example #5

何をしても
boku ga nani wo shiyou ga katte da. anata ni iu hitsuyou wa nai.
Whatever I do is my choice and none of your business.
