Learn Japanese grammar: (doushite). Meaning: why; for what reason; how.

  • (doushite) has two main meanins:
    1. To ask why or for what reason
    2. To ask how / method

Example A) why

  • 来なかった?
  • doushite konakatta
  • Why did you not come?

Example B) how / method

  • この字は書くんですか?
  • kono ji wa doushite kaku n desuka?
  • How do you write this character?
